Notes

This is a 45-foot, wood hull fiberglass reinforced plastic sheathing (stressed skin type construction), v bottom, hard chine, flush deck with perimeter rail, single screw, diesel excursion boat. Seven bulkheads and bottom stringers provide internal support. Vessel currently USCG certified for passenger use up to 49 persons. Considered suitable type for use in Southern California waters as found.

 

General

 

Maintenance: Licensed Captain maintains and operates vessel. Vessel appears to have had very good care and keep. Exterior generally well coated. Interior found neat and clean. Bilges clean and reasonably dry. Vessel does not appear hard worked or abused. Bell mouth suspected undersized.

Hull: Inspected internally and externally where accessible while afloat. No indication of deterioration or structural failure found considered to be of structural significance. Bottom appears clean and well coated as viewed at wind and water. Deterioration to unknown extent in bulwarks port bow inboard coming due for attention. Cathodic bonding system noted with suspect connections, improvements possible.

Machinery: Diesel. Good external appearance. Suitable type for service. Run for

inspection. Wet exhaust elbow beginning to pit and "weep". Through hull valves appear in operating condition. Reported all other auxiliaries in operating order. Secondary hose clamp being fit at propeller shaft log at this time.

Engine driven bilge pump manifolded to all but forward most compartments. 12-volt fresh water pump. Engine driven air compressor with receiving tank.
